Along with quantitative and qualitative methods, desk research (also known as secondary research) is the third technique applied carefully and selectively by us. Occasionally it can be advisable to become better acquainted with the object of inquiry through targeted research before designing and conducting a survey. Given that we live in an information age, sufficient data can usually be gleaned within a reasonable period of time.
The cost of desk research is often difficult to estimate in advance as we do not know how easy it will be to obtain the relevant information. In such cases we consider it sensible to set a cost limit that cannot be exceeded without the prior agreement of the client.
