. Given that we live in an information age, sufficient data can usually be gleaned within a reasonable period of time.
The cost of desk research is often difficult to estimate in advance as we do not know how easy it will be to obtain the relevant information. In such cases we consider it sensible to set a cost limit that cannot be exceeded without the prior agreement of the client.
