Better data with the right mix of methods
Optimize your surveys with precise targeting, defined subgroups, and real-time data management – achieve the right mix of methods with us.
Our mixed-mode surveys rely on innovative approaches and combine various data collection methods. We simultaneously and centrally manage your questions across online surveys, telephone interviews, face-to-face interviews, and even paper questionnaires.
By using the right combination of these (and other) methods, you give respondents control over how and when they participate (e.g., online via mobile or at a preferred time by phone) and reach both digitally engaged individuals as well as people who can only be contacted via landline or mobile phone. This increases participation rates, improves sample quality, and ultimately enhances the quality of your results. Additionally, a well-designed mix of methods can also be cost-effective—for example, by combining (more affordable) online surveys with telephone interviews (which are often necessary to reach people without internet access).
Our modern survey software enables the seamless integration of a wide range of methods, allowing for a flexible mix tailored to individual needs. Centrally managed, our IT systems ensure complex address and data management in real time.
This single-source solution forms the foundation for outstanding address utilization, precise targeting of specific subgroups, attractive pricing, and comprehensive data analysis and processing.
Most of the mixed-mode surveys we conduct focus on a combination of online and telephone interviews, embedded in versatile mixed-mode designs for simultaneous or sequential studies. Every year, Swiss federal offices, universities and higher education institutions, non-profit organizations, and private companies rely on our expertise in conducting mixed-mode surveys. Paper questionnaires are also increasingly requested as part of a mixed-method approach, particularly in response to declining willingness among the population to participate in telephone interviews, helping to engage specific target groups.
In addition to mixed modes where different channels/methods are offered in parallel, sequential mixed-mode surveys use different methods at different points in time and may serve different roles in the research process. For example, in many projects we initially recruit participants by phone (ensuring high representativeness at manageable costs through short recruitment interviews) and then allow them to answer your questions using their preferred method (typically online or via paper questionnaire).
